Interim Executive Staff Selection

You have taken your company a long way. The stakes and the complexity of the tasks at hand for the next leg of your journey are even greater. You have an opportunity to be the market leader.

There are some questions about building the company to the next level. Are all your management team members up for this challenge? Do you need to add a CFO, COO, CTO, VP of Business Development or some other CXO role to your existing team? If so, is this role needed full time and do you have the budget?

You need to find someone who has been there, done that. The individual required is someone who can make things happen, despite current limitations of the organization. Furthermore, you need them to understand your business model, be familiar your company's current stage of development, and most importantly, hit the ground running.

Your company is positioned in a market space of great change or growth. You have established yourself as a viable competitor, but feel you have the opportunity to move a step ahead of everyone. Advancing your management team's abilities or breadth of expertise can be critical in accomplishing this. There may also come a time where you experience a sudden loss of management talent that is necessary to maintain your current momentum.

Leading organizations we seek to partner with:
  • One of the leaders in it’s respective niche and poised for more growth.

  • Situated within a dynamic, industry changing opportunity.

  • Has a revolutionary value proposition and vision for how it will disrupt.

  • Has strong leadership, yet one core skill set may not be properly covered.

  • Ready to make other investments in their business to support new staff.

  • Seeking to build something of meaning that adds value for all stakeholders.

Is your company at a point where a more experienced executive is needed to play a key role? This role may not amount to a full-time job or the budget for a full-time position is not available at present. This does not change the fact the skill set is needed now. It also should not change the criteria for selection of the proper candidate: proven track record, domain knowledge and cultural fit, etc.

General profile of interim executive staff members we assign:
  • 10+ yrs as President or Owner of a small business, starting with less than 20 employees

  • 3 + yrs as owner/director of inc 500, pre-IPO , Private Equity owned or equivalent firm in either CEO, COO, CFO or other CXO role.

  • Excellent project management expertise; consulting experience helpful.

  • Well documented client and employee relations excellence.

  • A natural predisposition towards coaching and facilitating leadership styles.

  • Strong track record of company growth resulting in successful exits.

With the addition of the new interim executive it is quickly evident that the team is more complete and capable. The existing management team is comfortable with the new staff member, who also seems to be a cultural fit. Despite this comfort the new executive addition takes a strong leadership position that will maximize potential for impact. Your company is on it’s way to even greater success.

General characteristics we seek in a match:
  • Match based in part on streamlined, yet comprehensive business baseline.

  • Leadership team profiling and company culture incorporate into decision.

  • Executive understands business model; seen the situation many times before.

  • Client and executive's personalities are complementary; yet compatible.

  • Learning style fit allows for maximum transference of knowledge.

  • Executive has deep enough domain expertise to hit the ground running.
